MBL News November December 2020

MBL News is South Australia's leading trade magazine for butchers.

In this edition, MBL helps pay for new apprentices in 2021. In an initiative to tackle the concerning skills shortage in the butchery trade, MBL will pay for training with TAFE SA for elegible new apprentices. As well, MBL is offering to cover the member for wages for the apprentice while they attend training sessions at TAFE SA. This usually involves 16 days, one day a week between May and October. This two pronged MBL offer, when combined with established government subsidies and new post-pandemic stimulus measures, alleviates financial pressure on butchers hiring apprentices.

"Our twin offers aim to encourage and incentivise MBL Members to recruit and employ apprentices,"Jamie Higgins, CEO says,

"We are assisting our Members in the short term while helping the development of the next generation of butchers to continue the industry."
